My Christmas: Menu

This year we will be joining a large gathering of missionaries for our Christmas meal.  We are blessed to have a new meat store on our side of town where we can get already cut and packaged meats! A fellow missionary had the great idea to ask them to do a couple of hams for our gathering. HAM! So excited! The rest of the meal is going to be potluck style. I know for sure we’ll be having bread stuffing, sweet potatoes, bread and various desserts. The rest will be a surprise! It’s also fun to be able to have a “traditional” Christmas meal similar to my home culture.

What’s on your menu?

  1. In the morning I always make hot cocoa (the recipe on the side of the Hershey’s cocoa container not pre-made) just like my Grandma makes. Then I’ll put the cinnamon rolls in the oven. We’ll open stockings and snack on the cinnamon rolls and cocoa. After we open our presents we’ll have a breakfast casserole and fruit salad. Then we’ll play with all of our new toys and have a light lunch because we are planning on having Turkey, Stuffing, mashpotatoes, corn and lots of Christmas cookies for dinner. YUMM!

    1. Ooooh! That sounds fantastic. Do you make your dough the night before? I learned to make up the cinnamon rolls and put them in the fridge over night. I pull them out 30 minutes before I bake them. It’s nice to prep them the night before and still have fresh baked rolls in the morning. Thanks for the reminder about breakfast casserole. I’m putting that in my plan! Merry Christmas!
